INJURY ALERT! Liverpool’s new goalkeeper Loris Karius is set to miss 8-10 weeks

Another Liverpool New Signing Out, goalkeeper Loris Karius is set to miss 8-10 weeks with a broken hand suffered in the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in a friendly match during the club’s US tour.

It appears the injury bug in the Liverpool squad has not stopped to sting the players. Karius, who signed for the Reds for £4.7 million from Mainz earlier this summer,..
got injured as he accidentally punched teammate Dejan Lovren, who wanted to clear a cross in the game against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Despite getting himself injured, the 23-year old continued to play, but a scan confirmed the fracture which will sideline the goalie for 8-10 weeks as he flies back to England to have a surgery.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Kloop, who looked impressed with the German, may have limited choices as he is stuck with starting the Belgian Shot-stopper, Simon Mignolet in the league opener against Arsenal on August 14. He also has another choice of ex-Arsenal goal keeper, Alex Manninger, who joined the club on a free transfer from Augsburg last month.

Liverpool has been plagued with injuries in the pre-season, especially among the new folks, who are yet to even make a League debut; with likes of Ragnar Flavan and Marko Grujic (signed since January but loaned back to Red Star Belgrade) getting injured on Wednesday in California.
