i didn't advise Buhari against second term - Olusegun Obasanjo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said President Muhammadu Buhari can look for re-decision in 2019 as his established right.
Obasanjo added that it is dependent upon Nigerians to vote in favor of him or not, and denied an online production asserting he (Obasanjo) had, through his ex-Chief Press Secretary, Alex Nwokedi, cautioned Buhari against re – contesting in future.
The ex-President, who addressed journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, yesterday, through his media helper, Mr Kehinde Akinyemi, said he had not talked with Nwokedi in the most recent three years.
He portrayed the on-line report distributed on September 3 as "false" and those behind it as "damaging" and "adversaries of majority rules system."
"My conviction is that majority rule government permits anyone, including President Buhari besides, to challenge any race, and it is the privilege privileges of Nigerians to vote or not to vote in favor of him.
"I have not spoke with Alex in the most recent three years, so how a story could be credited to me, when I didn't approved such or spoke with him in the most recent three years?
"No one has the privilege, not in any case me, to exhort my kids not to look for elective post. It is a piece of the flexibility of majority rules system.
"I censure in the most elevated way the story and those behind it. What's more, for those behind it, they are essentially foes of majority rule government and flexibility of expression," he expressed.
Obasanjo said he is still dedicated to the peace and advancement of the nation's equitable improvement, which he guarantees will bring alleviation, with tolerance and comprehension of the masses.
